I wanted to let you know that I now have performance times for all three of our contests. They are listed below. Each week I will send out an email with a full itinerary for conest day. Please keep it in a prominent place.
Saturday, October 8—Buccaneer Marching Festival (Brenham ISD Stadium)—see attached itinerary
Performance tome is 7:20; Students report to EHS at 3:00 pm; Arrival back at EHS at 11:00 pm.
Saturday, October 15—Vista Ridge Marching Festival (Leander – Gupton Stadium)
Performance tome is 11:45 am; Students report to EHS at 8:30 am; Arrive back at EHS at 4:30 pm (if we don’t make finals) or 11:30 pm (if we do make finals).
Saturday, October 22—UIL Marching Contest (Round Rock Athletic Complex)
Performance tome is 6:30; Students report to EHS at 2:00 pm; Arrival back at EHS at 11:00 pm.

Attention All!
The Elgin Band Boosters will be having their monthly meeting this Tuesday, October 4th at 6:30 pm in the Elgin High School Band Hall. Please make every effort to attend. We will be discussing scholarships, ideas about limits, how many, etc. If you have an interest in giving your viewpoints, please come and join us. We want to hear from everyone who has ideas about scholarships or who have concerns about how scholarships are given out.
The band students are looking great! Each week they are fine tuning their techniques and they will do well at UIL competitition. This week they wil be going to Blinn Jr. College for a pre-UIL event. Wish them well. If you are interested in attending, they compete at 7:20 pm. Band Boosters will be providing sandwiches, chips, sweets and bottled water for their dinner.
Concessions: Thanks to all of the volunteers who have helped us in the concession stand. Without your help we could not be as successful as we are. If you are interested in helping out with this weeks game, please send an email to Ruben Ramirez (our fantastic volunteer coordinator). He has been doing an awesome job in securing help for us. Not only does he secure help, he comes every game and helps us to set up before the volunteers get there.
KUDOS go out to our other volunteers who help take care of the band students in the stands during the game. We always need help with chaperones to take kids to the restrooms, give them water etc. Leslie McMillen and Mike Marshall have done an awesome job of taking charge of attending to the kis needs.
It does take a village to raise a child! We are thankful for all of our helpers! If you want to know how you can help, please let us know!

In an effort to keep everyone informed of what’s happening at the Booster meetings, we will be posting the “unofficial” minutes as soon as we can after a meeting. Please read through to stay up to date on what’s happening with the Boosters this month!
It’s time to update the Elgin Band Booster Bylaws so we are posting the proposed changes here to give everyone a chance to review these suggested changes prior to the next meeting. If you have questions, please feel free to contact any Band Booster officer, or post your questions here. We hope to be able to address any questions or concerns in order to approve the updates at the next meeting. The changes are tracked in the document and should be visible for easy identification.
